Gannett News Service special report

Agencies selected for CreateAThon

Staff report

Nine nonprofit organizations from the River Region will benefit from advertising and marketing services provided by LWT Communications and its sister company, LWT/KBK New Media, in their third annual “CreateAThon event.”

Scheduled for Sept. 30, the event is a 24-hour effort by the firm to provide free creative services to nonprofit organizations in the area. LWT Communications received 48 applications from nonprofit agencies outlining their marketing needs.

Those selected as the beneficiaries of this yearís CreateAThon are: Old Alabama Town, the Alabama Art Trail, Easter Seals of Central Alabama, Humane Society of Elmore County, We Are Women In Recovery, The ARC of Alabama, Alabama Postpartum Support and Education Association, Hospice of Montgomery and Group Homes for Children.

“A wide range of services will be performed for the organizations during this 24-hour period,” said Jim Leonard, agency partner. “Projects range from Web development to logo design to strategic marketing planning to brochure development. It will be worth the lost revenue and sleep to provide these services to area organizations who normally couldnít afford them.”
